All Saints' College has been conducting a series of seminars that have been funded by the UGC and have contributed richly to academic research and collaborative activities on an inter institutional basis.

SEMINARS/ SYMPOSIA 2016-2017

  • Two day National Seminar on “Photonics, Medicine and the Environment” NSPME-2016 was held 22nd and 23rrd June 2016. The seminar was inaugurated by Dr.  M.  R. Sudarsanakumar, Principal, Mahatma Gandhi College, Thiruvananthapuram.

International Seminar on  “PROSPECTIVE APPROACHES AND APPLICATIONS OF YOGA AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITY FOR BETTER LIFE”. The seminar was conducted on November 19th and 20th 2015.
 
The Departemt of Physical education also organised an International Seminar on “PROSPECTIVE APPROACHES AND APPLICATIONS OF YOGA AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITY FOR BETTER LIFE”. The seminar was conducted on November 19th and 20th 2015. Dr.GEORGE ABRAHAM was the chief guest. A Yoga demonstration was done by the members of Shivananda Yoga Ashram leaded by Rudolph Rapisada from Zimbabwe. More than 350 people from all over the world participated in this seminar. 
    

 

National Seminar on ‘Numerical Methods in Computer Programming and their Applications’  from 8th -10th July 2015. 

Department of Physics conducted a UGC sponsored National Seminar on ‘Numerical Methods in Computer Programming and their Applications’  from 8th -10th July 2015. The Seminar was inaugurated by Dr. Achuth Sankar S Nair, followed by presentations by eminent personalities.

UGC-Sponsored National Seminar on “Recent and Emerging Advances in Chemical Sciences “(REACS-2015) was conducted on 8th and 9th January 2015. The Seminar was inaugurated by Dr. T.P.D. Rajan, Senior Scientist, NIIST, Thiruvananthapuram.

 

  

SEMINARS/ SYMPOSIA 2013-2014

International Seminar on Advances in Aquaculture Technologies 18 & 19 July 2013 

Mr. K. Babu, Hon. Minister for Fisheries, Ports and Excise graciously inaugurated the function. Two eminent scientists of the aquatic sciences, Prof. P. Natarajan and Prof. Keshavnath were honored on the occasion. Mini Antony IAS, Director, department of Fisheries, released the special issue of the Journal of Basic and Applied biology with the research articles of the seminar.The valedictory address was given by Dr. C.Sambhu of King Abdul aziz University.

 

National Seminar on Advances in Chemistry-Research and Opportunities on 5 August 2013  

A one day National seminar on “Advances in Chemistry Research and Opportunities” was held on 5-08-2013, sponsored by the KSCTE, Pattom . Dr. K Mohanan, former professor University of Kerala inaugurated the seminar.

Dr. Andreas Philippou, Professor of Emeritus, University of Patras and Former Education Minister of Cyprus inaugurated the seminar.

 

National Seminar on Empowerment of Women-Challenges and Prospects-A socio-economic studyon 29 & 30 January 2014 

A two day UGC sponsored National Seminar was jointly organized by the Departments of History and Economics on January 29 & 30,2014.The theme was “Empowerment of Women: Challenges and Prospects- A Socio-Economic Perspective”.The seminar was inaugurated by Ms. Aruna Sundararajan, Additional Chief Secretary,Govt. of Kerala & MD, KSIDC.The Key-note Address was delivered by Padmashree (Prof.) Dr. N R Madhava Menon IBA-CLE Chair in Continuing Legal Education, NLSIU,Bangalore. Rev. Mother Mary Elma, the College Manager offered felicitations.Dr. T N Seema MP delivered the valedictory address on January 30.

Two day international seminar on Micro Finance – Opportunities and Challenges organized on 7th & 8th February 2014. Rev.Mother Mary Elma, Superior general and Manager, CCK inaugurated the seminar . Keynote address was given by Dr.S.Kevin, Director, Bishop Jerome Institute, Kollam (Former PVC, University of Kerala). 

 

National Seminar on Prevention of Life Style Diseases through Participation in Physical Activities, on 10-11 Febr uary 2014 

A two day National Seminar on "Prevention of Lifestyle Diseases through Participation in Physical Activities",  sponsored by UGC, was held on 10th & 11th February 2014. The seminar was inaugurated by Olympian Bobby Aloysius, Asst. Secretary, Kerala Sports Council, Thiruvananthapuram. Keynote address was delivered by Dr. A. M. Moorthy, Principal, KACPESS, Karaikudi. The valedictory address was given by Dr. Binu George, Director, Dept. of PE, MG University.

 

International Conference on Emerging Frontiers and Challenges in Chemistry  on February 17th  & 18th 2014 

A Two day International Conference on “Emerging Frontiers and Challenges in Chemistry” ICEFCC-2014 on 17th and 18th February 2014. The Conference was inaugurated by Dr. V. N. Rajashekaran Pillai, Executive Vice President and Ex Officio Principal Secretary, Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment, Govt. of Kerala, Sasthra Bhavan. Keynote address by  Dr. G. J. Sanjayan, Scientist, Division of Organic Chemistry, National Chemical Laboratory, Pune.

 

One day National Seminar on ‘Green Conservation – Traditional methods’ on 10 March 2014 The seminar  was inaugurated by Dr. Jomy Augustine, Prof. & Head, Department of Botany, St. Thomas College, Palai. 

National Seminar on  Contemporary Techniques in Environmental Research and Conservation (CTERC -2014)  13-14 March 2014 

  

Workshop on Ornamental Fish Culture & Aquarium Management (WOFCAM-2014) from 11-15 March 2014Jointly organised by Department of Zoology & Matsyafed

The programme was inaugurated by Ms. Mini Antony IAS. 30 unemployed women from the local community and 30 students from the college were selected for attending the 5-day training programme. Participants were given glass aquarium tanks and fishes and a one-day field visit to Vizhinjam, Neyyar and a farm at Karamana was organized.

 

AQUASHOW:An aqua show was organized in association with CMFRI, Vizhinjam, ADAK, Govt. of Kerala, SAF, Govt. of Kerala and various other organizations conducted on March 13-14.
